September is National Preparedness Month and with the hockey season ramping up, what better time than now to prepare for the unexpected? Complete the Concussion Diagnostic test for your pre-season baseline. Baseline testing should help you maintain a healthy performance throughout the year. If you do sustain a concussion, you can retake the Concussion Diagnostic and compare past and present results for a safe return to play.
The baseline testing can also be used to test your cognitive abilities and brain function in a non-hockey related platform. Test and train your memory recall, reaction time, and vision skills. 'Dark Mode' is a great feature for those that have sensitivity to light or currently have concussion symptoms. Please take advantage of this option on both the Player and Goalie platforms. The Sense Arena Advisory board suggests the Concussion Baseline test should be taken on an annual basis to provide documentation of your most up-to-date baseline results prior to starting a new season. Please take 10 minutes this pre-season and prepare appropriately for the long season ahead.
Best of luck this season from your Sense Arena Team!
InGoal Radio Podcast presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports
🎤 Episode 190 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features another great conversation with Spencer Knight from the Florida Panthers.
In the feature interview, presented by Sense Arena, Knight is back for a third time on InGoal Radio after spending an hour with us heading into the 2019 NHL Draft, and teaming up with USA playing partner Dustin Wolf for an episode after winning World Junior Championship gold. This time we catch up on Knight’s first two seasons in the NHL, and how the (still just) 21-year-old continues to evolve his game and approach, including finding the balance between being willing to try new things but not always chasing change for the sake of change. Knight talks about everything from why he purposely stays off the ice longer in the summers, to the benefit of AHL stints even after establishing himself as NHL ready, to glove positioning, to what he likes about his Bauer KONEKT skates.
All that, plus our weekly plus a trip to The Hockey Shop Source for Sports for a look at the Coveted masks that fared so well in recent NHL testing, what option might be best for you, and why.
We hope that you will enjoy InGoal Radio by subscribing with your favorite podcast provider. Please take a moment to rate the show and leave a comment there; it would be sincerely appreciated!
