InGoal Radio Podcast presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports
Episode 118 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features an in-depth conversation with Anaheim Ducks goaltending coach Sudarshan Maharaj.
In the feature interview, presented by Sense Arena, we talk with Maharaj, or "Sudsie" as he is widely known, about his experiences working with all-time American-born NHL wins leader Ryan Miller in Anaheim, and thoughts going into Miller's final game this weekend. We also talk about his unique path to becoming an NHL goalie coach, and how he went from Canadian University, to playing professionally in Sweden, to taking a break to get his teaching certificate and working with at-risk youth in Toronto before getting back into coaching full time. There are lessons and links between those worlds that may surprise you, and thy also provide a valuable reminder that coaches are working with people and not just goalies, an understanding that has helped make Maharaj one of the most respected in the League.
All that plus the InGoal crew kicks around their likely Vezina Trophy finalists, and Marc-Andre Fleury passing Roberto Luongo for 3rd on the NHL all time win list, plus another trip to The Hockey Shop to show off and talk about out the new True 12.2 gear that arrived in store.
