InGoal Radio Podcast presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports
🎤 Episode 169 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features the return of our fearless leader Daren Millard and a fun, fascinating conversation with Vancouver Canucks puck-stopping icon Kirk McLean.
In that feature interview, presented by Sense Arena, McLean takes us through a 16-season NHL career that included 11 memorable seasons with the Canucks, including a spectacular run to Game 7 of the 1994 Stanley Cup Final. Labeled by many as one of the last of the stand-up goalies by the end of his career in 2001, McLean shares stories on his early inspirations and coaching, talks about style, both in terms of eschewing the butterfly and perhaps not coincidentally never sustaining a groin or knee injury, and the iconic look he brought back for the Canucks 50th Anniversary celebrations, and having Thatcher Demko reach out last summer to make sure it was okay to do a tribute set this season.
All that, plus a trip to The Hockey Shop Source for Sports for a look at the new Brian's G-Netik X5 line, a second price point option with plenty of pro level features.
