NHL Saves of the Week: Choose your favorite

Here are your NHL saves of the week for March 7.

Which is your favorite? Carey Price’s poke check? Michal Neuvirth’s sprawling glove?

Or was the best save not even made by a goalie?

Of course he finds time for some goaltending of his own as well, and despite his age, clings desperately to the idea that some NHL team will call him to play for them - though in his mid-forties (OK, late 40s) it'll likely be for a practice when everyone else on their depth chart has the flu and the shooter tutor has gone in for repairs.

I think they’re ranked well, but my favorite is #2. Jose pulled another one out, on the goal line where he clearly looked beat. A good majority of the others appear to have made the list because they’re glove saves, but not as impressive in my opinion since the goalie looks like he has his glove in the proper position and the puck simply gets shot there. Either way, a glove save always looks good! 😉

Carey Price’s pokecheck! A rarely seen move these days.

I had to choose two of them as a tie for first place. Jose’s amazing save on the goal line was a great bit of tracking the puck along with incredible timing and an amazing save. My second choice is the Poke Check by Carey Price. As Bill M. mentioned, you don’t see too many of these done anymore in the NHL. If they are timed correctly and executed properly they can save a shot on the net. For me, both of these saves are number one.
