Of course he finds time for some goaltending of his own as well, and despite his age, clings desperately to the idea that some NHL team will call him to play for them - though in his mid-forties (OK, late 40s) it'll likely be for a practice when everyone else on their depth chart has the flu and the shooter tutor has gone in for repairs.

I would really like to congratulate all of you on a great site, it is amazing. I just retired from coaching goalies after 40 years but I’m still doing consulting work and I’m on the Internet daily looking for new information on how to teach & coach goalies. I would’ve loved to have been able to refer to a site like yours back in the day because you have so many great articles on goaltending which I know can not only help goalies but more importantly the people that coach them. Your article by Mitch Korn last week was excellent but then again, Mitch is in a league by himself in my book as I’ve used a lot of his methods and props for a number of years and have been fortunate to chat with him on occasion. My philosophy is, when in doubt ask Mitch. Keep up the great work I know that you are doing a whole lot of good out there all round the world. I have past on your site to every goalie and parents of goalies I know and a few others I don’t know personally.

I began my first comment with the intention of saying something about the Saves of the Week but when I began to type I just wanted to say something about the site, because it is so great. So now I will leave a comment regarding the Saves of the Week.

This group of saves were fantastic, each and every one. In my opinion a great save is one that shows the goalie giving that “over the top effort” in an attempt to stop the puck. When a goalie gives that kind of effort,THAT IS A GREAT SAVE. Each one of this weeks Great Saves was indeed just that, but if I was asked which goalie gave the greastest effort I’d have to say they all did but if I had to pick just one I couldn’t but I will tell you my best three were (in no particular order) #5 Lundqvist, #2 Letman and #1 Halak. Things I look for is not only the effort but I also look to see if they are tracking the puck at the same time.

Remember coaches, Videos can tell you so much about a goalies play and you should use them as much as you can to help you and the goalies you are coaching. A picture is worth a 1,000 words.
