Webinar with NHL Goaltending Coach Bill Ranford
The latest InGoal InPerson webinar will feature four-time Stanley Cup champion and current Los Angeles Kings goaltending coach Bill Ranford.
InGoal members are invited to join Ranford on Saturday May 16 at 1 p.m. PST / 4 p.m. EST to discuss his thoughts on the evolution of the position as a player and a coach. A real student of the position, Ranford will share insights from a playing career that started with the Boston Bruins before winning two Cups (and a Conn Smythe trophy as playoff MVP) with the Edmonton Oilers, two titles (and more MVP awards) at the Canada Cup and World Championships, to adding two more Cups as a goaltending coach with the Kings.
We'll talk about the evolution of goaltending styles — Ranford certainly didn't play how he coaches now, though he uses and will share lessons from both — thoughts on managing practices for his goaltenders, including why it's important to make sure your coaches don't constantly treat your backup like a target, and balancing technique with compete in goalie sessions.
There also will be time for a Q&A with our Members, a valuable opportunity for learning whether you are a goaltender, coach or goalie parent, so get your questions ready.
This webinar has a maximum capacity of 500, so please get your registration in today. Members can register for the webinar today – and also submit a question for Bill.
Note: Registration secures your spot for the webinar but requires a free account with Zoom, which you will be prompted to create if you do not already have one.
