Charlie Lindgren submitted his entry for the NHL Save of the Season last week with a “butter-stack” windmill glove stop so now seemed like a perfect time to go back to the Washington Capitals goalie for another one of his insightful Pro Reads.

THE SEQUENCE

After breaking down mostly rush chances so far, Lindgren is dealing with a power play against the Boston Bruins in this latest video session, with David Pastrnak coming off the boards on his forehand from below the outside hash marks:

Lindgren Pro Reads 6 Screencap
Looking at the freeze frame above, what are the most important pieces of information you need to be aware of as a goalie? What matters the most about Pastrnak? What about his passing options? What do you notice about Lindgren in this freeze frame?

Would you be thinking about a Reverse-VH soon, or holding your feet? Why?

THE SAVE

Watch the save play out, keeping the same questions in mind:

Did you notice what Lindgren did as Pastrnak picked up that loose puck along the boards and circled back? What did you think of his decision to hold his feet on Pastrnak? What about coming across into a Reverse-VH with Jake DeBrusk on his one-time side backdoor?
