NHL Sense Arena adds Goalie Mindset Training
Pete Fry Brings Guided Visualization and Affirmations to VR
- Pete Fry's goalie mindset training is now built into NHL Sense Arena, accessible from the main menu upon login.
- VR visualization modules let goalies physically make saves while following guided mental routines — no need to close their eyes.
- Each save scenario is repeated three times, starting in slow motion and building to full speed to reinforce confidence.
- Modules range from short pre-game warm-up pump-ups to longer-range mental training for focus, composure, and anxiety reduction.
- The content mirrors the exact visualization work Fry conducts with NHL-level goalies on actual game days.
Two of our favourite things in goaltending have combined forces with the introduction of Pete Fry’s mindset training enters the virtual reality world of NHL Sense Arena.
Like the position itself, NHL Sense Arena never stops evolving and these new modules from Fry, whose client list ranges from pee wee to pro and includes top goalies right up to the NHL, include lessons ranging from visualization to confidence-building affirmations. They can be used for pre-game warm-ups pump ups and preparations, or for longer-range mental training to improve focus and help goalies overcome anxiety and stress.
“The game doesn’t start on the ice. It starts in your mind,” Fry says. “This program helps you build focus, confidence, and composure before you step into the crease, and makes sure you are game-ready and won’t need time to ‘settle in’ to the game.”
Fry’s mindset training is available on the main menu as soon as you log in:
