Byron Dafoe
Byron Dafoe was born in Sussex, England on February 25, 1971, and grew up to become one of the few British-born goaltenders to carve out a substantial NHL career. Selected by Washington in the second round, 14th pick, of the 1989 NHL Draft, Dafoe went on to appear in 415 NHL games, recording 171 wins, 170 losses, a 2.69 goals-against average, a .904 save percentage, and 26 shutouts. His career took him through four franchises β the Washington Capitals, Los Angeles Kings, Boston Bruins, and Atlanta Thrashers β over more than a decade of NHL service between 1992 and 2004.
