Dmitri Ivchenko is a goaltender selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the third round (78th overall) of the 2026 NHL Draft, via a pick acquired from Columbus. A native of Novotroitsk, a steel-mill town in the Urals near the Kazakh border, he left home around age 11 — first to nearby Orsk, then east to Avangard Omsk's academy — and signed a three-year extension with Avangard in July 2025.

The left-catching netminder posted one of the draft's most efficient lines in 2025-26: 11-5-1 with a 1.91 goals-against average, a .922 save percentage and four shutouts for Omsk's MHL junior side. He then shut out the final 5-0 to win the junior championship and was named the tournament's best goaltender. NHL Central Scouting rated him the No. 4 International goaltender, up from eighth at midterm.

DobberProspects' Jean-François Rioux calls him "one of the most projectable goaltenders in this class... a mature, technically refined goaltender with a wide butterfly flare and reliable tracking," and ranks him an excellent value in the third round.

This page gathers Ivchenko's junior numbers, measurements, and draft details in one place. InGoal Magazine will expand its coverage as his career develops.
