Frank Pietrangelo
Frank Pietrangelo was born on December 17, 1964, in Niagara Falls, Ontario. A left-catching goaltender listed at 5'10" and 185 pounds, he was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fourth round — first pick of that round — of the 1983 NHL Draft.
Pietrangelo appeared in 141 NHL games across his professional career, split between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Hartford Whalers from 1987 to 1994, recording 46 wins, 59 losses, a 4.12 goals-against average, a .872 save percentage, and 1 shutout. He was part of the Penguins organization during the 1990–91 season, when Pittsburgh won the Stanley Cup.
After his playing career concluded, Pietrangelo returned to his hometown and became involved in junior hockey, taking on a leadership and ownership role with the Niagara Falls Canucks. The club competed in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League before joining the Ontario Junior Hockey League in 2023.
