Garth Snow was born on July 28, 1969, in Wrentham, Massachusetts, and went on to play 368 games in the NHL as a left-catching goaltender standing 6'3" and weighing 200 pounds. The Quebec Nordiques selected him in the sixth round of the 1987 NHL Draft, ninth pick of that round.
Over his NHL career, Snow posted 135 wins, 147 losses, and 1 overtime decision, with a goals-against average of 2.80, a save percentage of .901, and 16 shutouts. After his playing career concluded, he moved into team management with the New York Islanders, serving as general manager, president, and alternate governor of the organization.
