Jeff Glass spent more than a decade working toward his NHL debut before it finally arrived in the 2017–18 season with the Chicago Blackhawks. Born in Calgary, Alberta on November 19, 1985, the left-catching goaltender stood 6'3" and weighed 206 pounds — a profile that attracted the Ottawa Senators, who selected him in the third round (24th pick of the round) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Glass spent several years in the Ottawa organization's minor league system before departing as a free agent in 2009 to join Barys Astana. When he did reach the NHL with Chicago, he appeared in 15 games, going 3–7–3 with a 3.36 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage. He did not record a shutout. His last professional affiliation was with the San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League.
