Jeff Reese
Jeff Reese was born on March 24, 1966, in Brantford, Ontario — the same city that produced Wayne Gretzky — and went on to play 174 games in the NHL as a left-catching goaltender standing 5'9" and weighing 180 pounds.
Reese was selected in the fourth round of the 1984 NHL Draft, 4th pick of that round, by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Over an eleven-season NHL career he suited up for the Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames, Hartford Whalers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and New Jersey Devils, finishing with 53 wins, 65 losses, a 3.66 goals-against average, a .879 save percentage, and 5 shutouts across those 174 appearances.
After his playing career concluded, Reese moved into coaching. He served as goaltending coach for the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2001 to 2009, then held the same role with the Philadelphia Flyers from 2009 until March 2015. Since 2015 he has been the goaltending coach for the Dallas Stars.
