Jimmy Waite was born on April 15, 1969, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, and was selected eighth overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the first round of the 1987 NHL Draft. The left-catching goaltender stood 6'1" and weighed 180 pounds.
Over the course of his NHL career, Waite appeared in 106 games, recording 28 wins, 41 losses, a 3.35 goals-against average, a .871 save percentage, and 4 shutouts. Following his playing career, he moved into coaching and currently serves as the goaltending coach for the Chicago Blackhawks.
