Kelly Hrudey
Kelly Hrudey was born on January 13, 1961, in Edmonton, Alberta, and was selected by the New York Islanders in the second round, 17th pick overall, of the 1980 NHL Draft. A left-catching goaltender listed at 5'10" and 190 pounds, he went on to play 677 games in the NHL across a professional career that ran from 1983 to 1998, appearing for the New York Islanders, Los Angeles Kings, and San Jose Sharks.
Over those 677 games, Hrudey recorded 271 wins, 265 losses, a career goals-against average of 3.43, a save percentage of .893, and 17 shutouts. Following his playing career, he moved into broadcasting and currently works with Sportsnet as a studio analyst on Hockey Night in Canada and as a colour commentator for Calgary Flames regional broadcasts.
