Les Kuntar, a left-catching goaltender born in Elma, New York on July 28, 1969, made his NHL debut with the Montreal Canadiens during the 1993–94 season. Selected by Montreal in the sixth round of the 1987 NHL Draft, 17th pick of that round, Kuntar spent the bulk of his professional career — which ran from 1991 to 1997 — in the minor leagues before earning his six games at the NHL level.
Standing 6'2" and weighing 195 pounds, Kuntar went 2–2 in those six appearances, posting a 3.18 goals-against average and a .877 save percentage. He also represented the United States internationally, suiting up for the American national team at the 1994 World Championships.
Before turning professional, Kuntar played collegiate hockey at St. Lawrence University.
