Mika Noronen
Mika Noronen was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the first round, 21st overall, in the 1997 NHL Draft. Born in Tampere, Finland, on June 17, 1979, the 6'2", 196-pound left-catching goaltender went on to appear in 71 NHL games — split between the Buffalo Sabres and Vancouver Canucks — between 2000 and 2006, posting 23 wins, 32 losses, a 2.68 goals-against average, a .901 save percentage, and 3 shutouts.
The bulk of Noronen's professional career, which spanned from 1997 to 2016, was played in Finland. He also represented the Finnish national team at both the junior and senior international levels, including at the 2004 World Championships.
