Ondrej Pavelec
Ondrej Pavelec was born on August 31, 1987, in Kladno, Czech Republic, a city with a long hockey tradition. The left-catching goaltender, listed at 6'3" and 212 pounds, was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the second round of the 2005 NHL Draft, 41st overall.
Pavelec remained with the organization as it relocated from Atlanta to Winnipeg, becoming the Jets in 2011, and served as the franchise's primary netminder through much of that transitional period. He later finished his NHL career with the New York Rangers. Over 398 NHL regular season games, he recorded 156 wins, 167 losses, and 48 overtime losses, with a career goals-against average of 2.88, a save percentage of .907, and 18 shutouts.
During the 2012–13 NHL lockout, Pavelec returned to Europe, playing for BÃlà TygÅ™i Liberec in the Czech Extraliga and for Pelicans in the Finnish SM-liiga.
