Parker Snell is a goaltender selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the fifth round (142nd overall) of the 2026 NHL Draft. Born April 21, 2008 in St. Albert, Alberta β€” the same hockey-rich Edmonton suburb that produced Mark Messier and where Jarome Iginla played his minor hockey β€” the 6-foot-2 netminder catches with his left hand.

He built his resume in the CSSHL, going a perfect 15-0-0 as a 14-year-old with Northern Alberta Xtreme while leading the league in goals-against average, save percentage and shutouts, then earning Top Goaltender and, in a CSSHL first for a male goaltender, league MVP honours at Okanagan Hockey Academy. The Edmonton Oil Kings drafted him in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft, and he announced himself with a 29-save shutout in his WHL debut β€” becoming just the second Oil King ever, after Red Wings first-rounder Sebastian Cossa, to post a shutout in his first WHL game.

In his draft season he went 21-9-1 with a 2.74 goals-against average and three shutouts, was named a WHL Goaltender of the Week, and raised his game to a .924 save percentage in the playoffs. NHL Central Scouting ranked him 19th among North American goaltenders, and McKeen's named him an early-season favorite among the class's goalies. InGoal Magazine will expand its coverage as his career develops.
