Peter Sidorkiewicz
Peter Sidorkiewicz was born on June 29, 1963, in Dabrowa Bialostocka, Poland — a detail that made his path to the NHL an unusual one for its era. Selected by Hartford in the fifth round (seventh pick) of the 1981 NHL Draft, the left-catching goaltender stood 5'9" and weighed 180 pounds. He wore number 30.
Over a 246-game NHL career split among the Hartford Whalers, Ottawa Senators, and New Jersey Devils, Sidorkiewicz posted 79 wins, 128 losses, a 3.60 goals-against average, a .871 save percentage, and 8 shutouts. He represented the Wales Conference in the 1993 NHL All-Star Game.
After retiring, Sidorkiewicz moved into coaching, working with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League, Dornbirner EC of the Austrian Hockey League, and the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL.
