Peter Skudra
Peter Skudra was born on April 24, 1973, in Riga, Latvia β one of the relatively few NHL goaltenders to come out of that country. Standing 6'1" and weighing 185 pounds, the left-catching netminder built a professional career that spanned from 1994 to 2007 across leagues in Latvia, Russia, and North America.
Skudra moved to the North American minor leagues in 1994 and signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1997, making his NHL debut that same year. Over the course of his NHL career, he appeared in 146 games, recording 51 wins, 47 losses, a 2.73 goals-against average, a .894 save percentage, and 6 shutouts.
Following his playing career, Skudra moved into coaching and has served as a head coach in professional hockey.
