Rick Knickle spent the better part of two decades in professional hockey before reaching the NHL, finally appearing in 14 games for the Los Angeles Kings across the 1992–93 and 1993–94 seasons. Born February 26, 1960, in Chatham, Ontario, the left-catching goaltender stood 5'10" and weighed 155 pounds. The Buffalo Sabres selected him in the sixth round of the 1979 draft, 11th pick of that round, but his path to the league wound through the minor leagues for more than a decade before he suited up for Los Angeles.
