Robb Stauber was born on November 25, 1967, in Duluth, Minnesota, and was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the sixth round of the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. Before reaching the professional level, he played college hockey for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. A left-catching goaltender listed at 5'11" and 180 pounds, Stauber wore number 35 during his NHL career.
Over 62 NHL games, he posted 21 wins, 23 losses, a 3.81 goals-against average, a .89 save percentage, and 1 shutout, appearing with both the Los Angeles Kings and the Buffalo Sabres. Following his playing career, he moved into coaching.
