Roberto Henriquez is a goaltender selected by the Boston Bruins in the sixth round (170th overall) of the 2026 NHL Draft β€” Boston's second goaltender of the draft, after Yuri Ivanov. Born April 29, 2007 in Bratislava and known to teammates as "Leo," the 6-foot-2, left-catching netminder is one of the very few players of Dominican heritage anywhere in hockey: his Slovak mother and Dominican father met after his father visited Slovakia on vacation and decided to stay. When Roberto first pulled on Slovakia's national-team jersey, his father wept.

He came up through HC Slovan Bratislava β€” the storied club that produced Hall of Famer Peter Stastny β€” choosing goaltending, his mother says, out of sheer stubbornness, because he wanted to be involved on every play. In 2025-26 he broke out with the USHL's Green Bay Gamblers, leading the entire league in save percentage at .921 with a 2.22 goals-against average over 37 games, a USHL Goaltender of the Year finalist who committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Boston College.

He even found his way onto the scoresheet: on February 14, 2026 he fired the puck the length of the ice into an empty net for a goal, then posted a shutout the same night and another the next day. A five-language speaker who models his game on Nashville's Juuse Saros, Henriquez is, in his goalie coach's words, "happy-go-lucky" until "the lights are shining the brightest." InGoal Magazine will expand its coverage as his career develops.
