Tommy Salo
Tommy Salo was born on February 1, 1971, in Surahammar, Sweden, and went on to play 526 games in the NHL after being selected by the New York Islanders in the fifth round of the 1993 draft, 14th pick of that round. A left-catching goaltender who stood 6'0" and weighed 180 pounds, Salo wore number 35 across stops with the New York Islanders, Edmonton Oilers, and Colorado Avalanche.
Over his NHL career, Salo posted 210 wins against 225 losses, a 2.55 goals-against average, a .905 save percentage, and 37 shutouts.
After his playing career, Salo moved into coaching, serving as head coach of IK Oskarshamn. He subsequently became general manager of Leksands IF in the Swedish Hockey League, the role he currently holds.
