Tommy Soderstrom
Tommy Söderström was born on July 17, 1969, in Stockholm, Sweden, and was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 11th round, 4th pick, of the 1990 NHL Draft. Standing 5'9" and weighing 155 pounds, the left-catching netminder went on to play 156 NHL games across parts of four seasons, split between the Flyers and the New York Islanders from 1992 to 1996. He finished his NHL career with 45 wins, 69 losses, a 3.63 goals-against average, a .884 save percentage, and 10 shutouts.
Outside of the NHL, Söderström spent the bulk of his playing career — which ran from 1989 to 2000 — in the Swedish Elitserien. Internationally, he represented Sweden at three World Championships, winning two gold medals and one silver, and was part of the Swedish team at the 1994 Winter Olympics.
