🎤 We celebrate Episode 200 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, with the return of a very special guest from our first episode, Hall of Fame goalie Roberto Luongo.
In the feature interview, presented by Sense Arena, Luongo reveals that he actually doesn't do podcast interviews... except ours... twice now... so we were incredibly honoured to have one of the game's all-time greats back to talk about his recent induction to the Hall of Fame and reflect on the career that got him there. For all the awards, records and accolades Luongo piled up during that career, including two Olympic gold medals, you might be surprised to learn what he is most proud of from his 18 NHL seasons with the New York Islanders, Vancouver Canucks and Florida Panthers.
Luongo, who now works for the Panthers as a special advisor to the GM and director of their goaltending department also talks about how his game evolved during that time, and how he's seeing the game change for the goalies playing since he return in 2019, and what he thinks is next.
All that, plus a trip to the new location of The Hockey Shop Source for Sports (now in Langley) for a great story about a current Canucks goalie, and how his habit putting Vaseline on his pads before games to prevent puck marks was ended thanks to some Puck Out purchased at The Hockey Shop.
