Overview
Save Tracker collects almost no personal data. The app works entirely offline, and the only information we collect is an optional email address if you choose to receive game recap emails.
Save Tracker is an iOS app developed by InGoal Magazine Inc. ("InGoal," "we," "us," "our") that lets hockey goalie parents track saves, goals, and shots during games. The app is free to download with an optional paid Pro upgrade. We are committed to collecting as little personal information as possible.
What the App Does Without Any Personal Information
Save Tracker's core functionality works entirely on your device with no account, no login, and no internet connection required. You can:
- Track saves, goals, and shots in real time
- View your game summary
- Review game history
- Use volume button shortcuts (Pro feature)
- Use Two Goalie Mode
All game data is stored locally on your device using standard iOS on-device storage (UserDefaults). We have no access to this data and cannot retrieve or recover it.
Information We Collect
Email address (optional): Only if you choose to receive game recap reports. Your email is stored locally on your device and transmitted to our server solely to deliver the recap email you requested. We also store the email on our server to associate it with your recap history. You can remove your email at any time from Settings.
Game statistics (when sending recaps): When you request a recap email, the game summary (saves, shots, goals, opponent, score, date) is sent to our server to generate the email. Game statistics are user-entered and may be inaccurate. We retain these statistics on our server associated with your email address.
What we do not collect: We do not collect your name, physical location, contacts, photos, browsing history, or any other personal information beyond what is listed above. We do not use any analytics, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs in the app. Note: RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, may generate anonymous device identifiers internally to manage subscription state (see Third-Party Services below).
How We Use Your Information
If you provide your email address, we use it exclusively to:
- Send game recap emails that you request
- Send recap copies to additional recipients you specify (e.g., a coach or family member)
We do not use your email for marketing, newsletters, or promotional purposes. If you separately subscribe to InGoal Magazine communications through our website, that is a separate and independent relationship. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes.
Third-Party Services
Save Tracker uses the following third-party services, each of which may process limited data as described:
- Postmark (by ActiveCampaign) — delivers game recap emails. Postmark processes your email address and the recap content solely to deliver the message. Postmark's privacy policy: postmarkapp.com/privacy-policy.
- RevenueCat — manages in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect anonymous identifiers to manage your subscription status. RevenueCat does not receive your email or game data. RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Apple — processes all in-app purchases and subscriptions. We do not receive or store your payment information. Apple's privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.
These providers process data only as necessary to deliver their services to us and are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing purposes. We do not use any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or other tracking services.
Game Recap Emails
Recap emails are delivered via Postmark, a transactional email service. Free users may send up to 5 recap emails per month. Pro users may send up to 10 per month. You can opt out of recaps at any time in Settings without removing your email.
By entering email addresses for recap delivery, you confirm that you have permission to send emails to those recipients.
In-App Purchases
Save Tracker Pro is available as an optional subscription (monthly or annual) or a one-time lifetime purchase through Apple's App Store. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in your device's Settings → Subscriptions. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple and managed by RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details.
Data Storage and Security
- On your device: Game data, settings, and preferences are stored locally using iOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device unless you request a recap email. We cannot access, view, or recover this data.
- On our server: If you provide an email, your email address and game recap statistics are stored on our server hosted in the United States. All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption). Server access is restricted to authorized InGoal personnel.
Data Retention
We retain your email address and recap history on our server until you delete your email or request deletion. When you delete your data (see below), your records are permanently removed from our server immediately.
Data Deletion
You can delete all your data at any time:
- Open Save Tracker → Settings → Delete All Data
This immediately and permanently removes all games, settings, and email from your device. If you provided an email, your email address, game history, and all associated records are also deleted from our server. This action cannot be undone.
You may also remove your email without deleting local game data via Settings → Game Recaps → Remove Email. This deletes your email from both your device and our server.
Email delivery records: Like most apps that send email, copies of previously delivered recap emails may be retained temporarily by our email delivery provider (Postmark) in their system logs for up to 45 days after deletion, after which message content is automatically purged. This is standard practice for email service providers and is necessary for deliverability monitoring and abuse prevention. Postmark does not use this data for any other purpose.
Children's Privacy
Save Tracker is designed for goalie parents and guardians, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). The app's core features require no personal information whatsoever. If a parent or guardian provides their own email for recap reports, that is the adult's information, not the child's. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
International Users
If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that any information you provide (your email address and game statistics) will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the recap email feature, you consent to this transfer. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at the address below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
