More on Khabibulin after his game losing gaffe vs. Calgary. It’s a good thing this didn’t happen to a raw rookie – or to Toskala in Toronto who has enough to deal with.

And speaking of Vesa Toskala – this should be a continuing column of its own – the brewing controversy in Toronto – Monster vs. Toskala. It will be interesting to see which goalie gets the start against Ottawa tonight.
Looks like Gustavsson is starting tonight: TSN.ca report as well as this one from Paul Hunter of the Toronto Star who finds a bit of humor in where the Monster shops:
He bought some of the furniture for his downtown apartment at IKEA and assembled it himself. ”Not maybe the most fancy,” the Maple Leafs’ rookie netminder said. “But it’s enough for me and it’s a good price.”
Turns out he also failed the written part of his driver’s licence. There really is no privacy when you’re a hockey player in Toronto!

It would be tough to rival the goaltending story coming out of Toronto – but Ray Emery’s story and the hot start that he has had is getting the Philadelphia Flyers’ number one goalie lots of attention:

In Vancouver, the Canucks are now 0-3 with traditional slow-starter Roberto Luongo being pulled tonight after giving up four goals on 11 shots.
