Thomas Magnusson is known as the Godfather of Swedish Goaltending and is one of the most intelligent and well-spoken goalie coaches you will find. From legends like Henrik Lundqvist to current stars like Jacob Markstrom and Filip Gustavsson, Thomas has positively influenced multiple generations of top Swedish goalies since he started coaching professionally with Djurgårdens in 1983. Currently the head of goaltending development for the Swedish Ice Hockey Association, Thomas is also responsible for crafting the coveted Swedish Goalie Bible, which includes some of his well-known concepts like Box Control, Situational Analysis, the Pendulum Effect, and now in the science of Ecological Dynamics.

Despite nearly 40 years of goalie coaching excellence, maybe his most impressive trait is how many other coaches he has mentored and inspired around the world. Simply put, his impact on the position runs so deep that it crosses the borders of all nations. For someone with such a high hockey IQ and so much experience, his ego is totally nonexistent, his willingness to share is unmatched, and his inner fire to keep learning is burning brighter than ever.
