Goalie News: Your Morning Goaltending Roundup

What our daily goaltending roundup is, where to find it and how it works. Open to everyone through November 30.

Key Takeaways
  • Goalie News publishes one edition per day covering goaltenders exclusively across all major leagues and levels.
  • Every story is fact-checked against its original source — box score, team announcement, or bylined reporter — before publication.
  • Access all editions at goalienews.com; the most recent edition also appears on the InGoal homepage.
  • Free for InGoal members permanently; open to all readers at no cost through November 30.
  • Each edition includes league labels (NHL, AHL, PWHL, College, International, Coaches) so readers can navigate directly to the coverage they follow.

“Where have you been all my life?”

That was the reply from John Bastoni, a goalie coach and InGoal member, after his first look at Goalie News. It’s the newest thing we make, and it’s built for anyone who wants to keep up with the position without spending the morning hunting for it.

Each morning, Goalie News gathers the goaltending stories of the day from around the game into one edition: who stood on their head last night, who signed where, which coach changed jobs, which milestone just fell. It’s always free for InGoal members, and through November 30 we’ve opened it to everyone. Here’s what it is, where to find it, and how to get the most out of it. Read the latest edition.

What Goalie News is

One edition a day, about goalies and only goalies. It covers the NHL, the PWHL, the AHL and ECHL, college hockey, U SPORTS, junior hockey, the international game, and the goalie coaches behind the position: their hires, moves, and work.

Every story is checked against the source before it runs, whether that’s the box score, the team’s announcement, or the reporter who broke it, and every source is credited and linked. The edition is written in our words. Like everything we present at InGoal, it’s deliberately positive: we cover the big saves, the debuts, the milestones, and the comebacks, and leave the pile-ons to everyone else.

Where to find it

  • Type goalienews.com into any browser. It takes you straight to the Goalie News page, where every edition is listed, newest first.
  • On the InGoal homepage, the Goalie News card shows the latest edition’s headline. The row along the bottom of the card has a link for each recent edition, so you can catch up on a day you missed.
  • From any edition, the arrows under the date take you to the day before or the day after.
Three views of the Goalie News card: it opens on the newest edition, then tapping Wed 7 and Tue 6 swaps in each day's headline. Two views of the Goalie News card on a phone: it opens on the newest edition, and tapping Wed 7 swaps in that day's headline.
Tap Read the edition to open the one you want. The row shows the last four days on a phone and the full week on a computer.

How an edition works

  • In this edition: the list at the top of every edition shows each story, and tapping one jumps straight to it. Short on time? Read the list and pick.
  • League labels: each story starts with its league or area (NHL, AHL, PWHL, College, International, Coaches), so you can head straight for the parts you follow.
  • Goalie names link to their InGoal profiles, with their background and everything we’ve published on them.
  • On InGoal boxes under a story point you to our own work on that goalie: InGoal Radio episodes, Pro Reads, features, and drills.
  • The original posts: when a team or reporter shared the moment on X or Instagram, you’ll often see it right in the story.
  • Share: the share button next to the byline sends the edition to a teammate, a parent, or your goalie group.

Always free for InGoal members

Goalie News comes with an InGoal Magazine membership, so members always have it. Through the end of November, we’ve opened it to everyone so you can see what it’s about.

Check back every morning

The best way to use Goalie News is to make it a habit. Bookmark goalienews.com, check it with your morning coffee, and you’ll know what happened in the crease last night before anyone at the rink brings it up.

And if you have goalie news of your own (a big save in your league, a signing, a coaching hire), send it to news@ingoalmag.com.
