Episode 278 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features two great guests: retired NHL goalie Eddie Lack and EBUG legend Douglas Melvin, who was a Philadelphia Flyers practice goalie at age 14 and now a 65-year-old EBUG in the ECHL.
In the feature interview presented by NHL Sense Arena, Lack first brings us up to speed on the transition from NHL goalie to real estate star in Arizona, while also sharing key lessons from legendary former teammates like Henrik Lundqvist, Roberto Luongo, Ryan Miller, Cory Schneider and Jacob Markstrom. And in the can’t miss bonus interview, Melvin shares stories and lessons from 60 years stopping pucks, from those early days of missing classes to help the Flyers out at practice, to having Jacques Plante as a goalie coach at NHL camp, then a break to get a degree in accounting and become a green beret before returning to the position he loves and continuing as a practice goalie into his 60s, including two-a-day training camp skates this fall.
