There’s been a lot of Dustin Wolf in Pro Reads lately, and while we promise to spread the wealth soon, it’s not like it’s a bad thing to learn from a top young NHL goalie.

In this case, we’re going back to Wolf because of his impressive season-opening, eight-round shootout victory against the Edmonton Oilers. Watching Wolf’s patience edge control, including an ability to hold and re-establish those edges from a really wide stance in that game inspired a conversation on the latest episode of the InGoal Radio Podcast, which reminded us we wrapped this recent hour-long video session with Wolf by looking at and talking about his approach to breakaways.
