Eric Comrie made his return to Pro Reads this summer after almost four years and the Winnipeg Jets goalie was so good that we didn’t want to wait more than a month to get back to him. So, without further delay let’s go back to Comrie, who openly shares how he – and goalie coach Wade Flaherty and teammate Connor Hellebuyck – look at the game, both in real time and in video breakdown sessions like these.

THE SCENARIO

Comrie is facing a 3-on-2 against the Calgary Flames in this one, with Nazem Kadri leading the rush up ice, and a perfect replay angle for us to consider:

Looking at that freeze frame above in much the same way Comrie would be seeing it, what are the most important factors to consider in terms of both Kadri and the passing options on each side? What about the Jets defensemen?
Comrie isn’t in the picture yet, but what would you expect in terms of his depth and positioning relative to the top edge of the crease? What factors determine this?
