Adin Hill was born on May 11, 1996, in Comox, British Columbia. The Arizona Coyotes selected him 76th overall β third round, 15th pick β in the 2015 NHL Draft. From that western Canadian island town, Hill's path to the NHL took the better part of three seasons to fully materialize, but once it did, it produced one of the more eventful careers in recent goaltending history, including a Stanley Cup championship.
Hill made his NHL debut with the Coyotes in 2017β18, appearing in four games and going 1β3 with a 3.49 goals-against average. The following two seasons brought steadily expanded roles: 13 games in 2018β19 (7β5, 2.76 GAA, .901 save percentage, one shutout) and 13 more in 2019β20 (2β4, 2.62 GAA, .918 save percentage). The shortened 2020β21 season gave Hill his largest workload as a Coyote β 19 games, a 9β9 record, a 2.74 GAA, a .913 save percentage, and two shutouts. Over his four full seasons in Arizona, he posted numbers that consistently placed him above the league average in save percentage.
InGoal Magazine has covered Adin Hill in one podcast appearance. On episode 119 of InGoal Radio, recorded in May 2021, Hill joined the podcast as Arizona's season wrapped and as he prepared to represent Canada at the IIHF World Championship in Latvia [1].
Following his time in Arizona, Hill was acquired by the San Jose Sharks, where he played 25 games in 2021β22, going 10β11 with a 2.66 GAA and a .906 save percentage, adding two shutouts. That season would be his last as a backup or secondary option. In the summer of 2022, he joined the Vegas Golden Knights β and everything changed.
Hill's first season in Vegas, 2022β23, covered 27 games, a 16β7 record, a 2.50 GAA, and a .915 save percentage. The Golden Knights won the Stanley Cup that spring, with Hill serving as the team's starting goaltender in the championship run. In 2023β24, he appeared in 35 games, going 19β12 with a 2.71 GAA and a .909 save percentage and adding two shutouts.
His 2024β25 season was the most active of his career to that point: 50 games played, a 32β13 record, a 2.47 GAA, a .906 save percentage, and four shutouts β the highest win total and highest game total of his career through that point.
Through the 2025β26 season, Hill has appeared in 213 NHL regular-season games, posting a career record of 106β73β19 with a 2.68 GAA, a .905 save percentage, and 12 shutouts across 11,857:28 minutes of play. He continues with the Vegas Golden Knights, wearing number 33, and stands 6'4" and 222 pounds.
