Amanda Thiele
Amanda Thiele grew up in Milford, Michigan, and represented the United States at the 2020 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship in Slovakia, where she won a gold medal.
Thiele spent four seasons with the Ohio State Buckeyes, appearing in 102 games and accumulating 5,585:42 minutes between the pipes. She finished her college career with a record of 74-16-3-14, a .914 save percentage, and 1,699 saves. During her senior season, she set a program record for single-season wins with 20 and added four shutouts, including a 5-0 win over Wisconsin on January 14, 2023, and a 3-0 shutout of Northeastern in the Frozen Four semifinals on March 17, 2023. She also recorded five assists across her four years in Columbus.
One of the more distinctive moments of her college career came on January 4, 2025, when the Buckeyes played an outdoor game at Wrigley Field. Thiele made a season-high 31 saves and stopped all seven Wisconsin shootout attempts, earning Ohio State an extra point in the WCHA standings.
Her college honors included WCHA Goaltender of the Month in February 2022, a spot on the HCA Women's Hockey Goalie of the Year Watchlist in 2022, and a place on the WCHA Final Faceoff All-Tournament Team. She was also recognized repeatedly for her academic work, earning OSU Scholar Athlete honors in 2021, 2022, and 2023, Academic All-Big Ten recognition in 2022 and 2023, WCHA All-Academic Team and WCHA Scholar-Athlete designations in 2022 and 2023, and AHCA All-American Scholar in 2021.
Boston selected Thiele in the sixth round, 42nd overall, in the 2025 PWHL Draft. She signed a one-year contract with the Fleet following Training Camp for the 2025-26 season. She wears number 30 and catches left.
