Amanda Thiele
Amanda Thiele, a goaltender from Milford, Michigan, brought a record-setting college career to the professional level when Boston selected her in the sixth round, 42nd overall, in the 2025 PWHL Draft. She signed a one-year contract with the Fleet following training camp for the 2025-26 season.
Thiele spent four seasons at Ohio State, appearing in 102 games and accumulating 5,585:42 minutes of playing time. She finished her collegiate career with a record of 74-16-3-14, a .914 save percentage, and 1,699 saves. During her senior season, she set a program record for single-season wins with 20 and posted four shutouts, including a 5-0 victory over Wisconsin on January 14, 2023, and a 3-0 shutout of Northeastern in the Frozen Four semifinals on March 17, 2023. She also recorded five assists over the course of her college career.
One of her final performances as a Buckeye came at Wrigley Field on January 4, 2025, when Ohio State faced Wisconsin in an outdoor game. Thiele made a season-high 31 saves and stopped all seven Wisconsin shootout attempts, helping Ohio State earn an extra point in the WCHA standings.
Her college honors included the WCHA Goaltender of the Month award in February 2022, placement on the HCA Women's Hockey Goalie of the Year Watchlist in 2022, and a spot on the WCHA Final Faceoff All-Tournament Team. She was a three-time OSU Scholar Athlete, earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition in 2022 and 2023, and was named to the WCHA All-Academic Team and recognized as a WCHA Scholar-Athlete and AHCA All-American Scholar across multiple seasons.
Before her time at Ohio State, Thiele represented the United States internationally, winning a gold medal at the 2020 U-18 IIHF World Championships held in Slovakia.
