Callie Shanahan
Callie Shanahan, a left-catching goaltender from Commerce Township, Michigan, joined the New York Sirens of the Professional Women's Hockey League after completing four seasons at Boston University.
Shanahan arrived at BU having already represented the United States on the international stage, winning a gold medal with Team USA at the 2020 IIHF Women's U18 World Championship. She was also invited to participate in USA Hockey's National Festival before her freshman year, and received a second National Festival invitation during her third season. She appeared in the USA Hockey Collegiate Series against Canada in both 2022 and 2024.
Her freshman season with the Terriers set a foundation for the years that followed. She appeared in 14 games and posted a .925 save percentage, earning unanimous selection to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team. Over her four seasons she played in 77 games total, going 32-29-6, and was named an assistant captain in her senior year. She also earned Hockey East All-Tournament Team recognition and added to an academic honors list that included Hockey East All-Academic Team selections in 2021-22, 2023-24, and 2024-25.
