Callie Shanahan
Callie Shanahan grew up in Commerce Township, Michigan, and spent all four years of her NCAA career at Boston University before the New York Sirens selected her to join the PWHL. At 22, she wears number 37 for New York and catches left.
Shanahan arrived at BU and was unanimously named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team after appearing in 14 games and posting a .925 save percentage in her first college season. She went on to play 77 games across four years with the Terriers, finishing with 32 wins, 29 losses, and 6 ties. In her senior year she was named an assistant captain and started 29 of the team's 30 games, recording a 1.81 GAA, a .924 save percentage, 18 wins, and three shutouts β each a career best. That season she also earned Hockey East All-Tournament Team honors. She was recognized on the Hockey East All-Academic Team in 2021-22, 2023-24, and 2024-25.
On the international stage, Shanahan won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2020 IIHF Women's World U18 Championship. She was invited to participate in the USA Hockey National Festival twice during her college years β once before her freshman season and again during her third year β and represented the United States in the Collegiate Series against Team Canada in both 2022 and 2024.
