Kayle Osborne grew up in Westport, Ontario, a small town in eastern Ontario, and now tends goal for the New York Sirens of the Professional Women's Hockey League. Born on February 28, 2002, the left-catching netminder came through the college ranks at Colgate University, where she built one of the more complete résumés in recent ECAC history.

Osborne announced herself immediately at the NCAA level, earning ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year honors in her first season (2020–21) while also being named a finalist for the NCAA Women's Hockey Goalie of the Year award and receiving Colgate's own Rookie of the Year recognition.

Her senior season in 2023–24 represented the high point of her college career statistically. In 26 games, she posted a 20–4–1 record alongside a 1.28 goals-against average, a .941 save percentage, and six shutouts. That year she was named ECAC Tournament MVP and earned ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week honors six times. The Colgate Raiders advanced to the NCAA Frozen Four that spring.

Beyond the college game, Osborne was selected to Team Canada's National Women's Team Selection Camp roster for the 2022–23 Summer Showcase.
