Daren Puppa
Daren Puppa was born on March 23, 1965, in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. The 6'4" right-catching goaltender was selected by Buffalo in the fourth round, 12th pick, of the 1983 NHL Draft. Before reaching the NHL, he won the 1985 NCAA Championship with RPI and later captured the Calder Cup with the Rochester Americans in 1987.
Over a career that spanned 429 games, Puppa posted 179 wins, 161 losses, a 3.03 goals-against average, a .897 save percentage, and 19 shutouts. He wore number 31 and played for the Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Tampa Bay Lightning during his NHL tenure.
