Born May 16, 1994 · Waterford, Ontario, Canada
Elaine Chuli
Elaine Chuli grew up in Waterford, Ontario, and built her foundation between the pipes over four seasons at the University of Connecticut from 2012 to 2016. During her time with the UConn Huskies, she set program records for most saves in a single season and most saves across a career — records that also stand as all-time marks in Hockey East (WHEA) conference history. Along the way she recorded a career-best 55 saves in a single game and earned WHEA Honorable Mention All-Star recognition in 2013–14.
Before UConn, Chuli was already representing Canada on the international stage. She won gold at the 2012 IIHF U18 Women's World Championship, and was named to the 2016 national team program.
Her professional path began with the Vanke Rays in the CWHL during the 2017–18 season, followed by a season with the Toronto Furies in 2018–19. She skated with the PWHPA in 2019–20 before joining the Toronto Six, where she spent three seasons. The 2021–22 campaign brought her PHF Goaltender of the Year honors, and she capped her time with the Six by winning the Isobel Cup in 2023 — the franchise's first championship.
Following the formation of the PWHL, Chuli joined the Toronto Sceptres, wearing number 29. She now plays for the New York Sirens.
After the 2023 Isobel Cup victory, Chuli appeared on InGoal Radio episode 211 alongside fellow champion Carly Jackson [1]. InGoal Magazine has covered Elaine Chuli in one podcast appearance.
