INGOALMAG.COMRaygan Kirk
Raygan Kirk grew up in Ste. Anne, Manitoba, a small town southeast of Winnipeg, and went on to win an NCAA championship and earn tournament MVP honours before joining the Toronto Sceptres of the Professional Women's Hockey League.
Kirk's path through college hockey was shaped by circumstance as much as performance. She began at Robert Morris University, where she made the CHA All-Rookie Team after starting 24 games and winning 15 as a freshman. Her sophomore season brought eight wins in 15 games and a .939 save percentage. When Robert Morris abruptly shuttered its hockey program, Kirk transferred to Ohio State.
Her first two seasons with the Buckeyes were limited — four games in her junior year and 11 as a senior, with eight wins in that latter campaign. It was her fifth year of eligibility that defined her collegiate career. Serving as Ohio State's number one goaltender, Kirk went 22-0 across 24 games with a .945 save percentage, helping the Buckeyes capture the NCAA Championship. She shut out Wisconsin in the final, was named tournament MVP, and earned a spot on the Frozen Four All-Tournament Team. That 22nd win also set a new Ohio State team record for wins in a single season.
Before her college career, Kirk represented Canada at the 2019 U18 World Championship, playing all four games as Canada won gold. She was named tournament MVP for that performance as well.
Kirk has since joined the Toronto Sceptres in the PWHL, wearing number 1. She discussed her path to professional hockey on InGoal Radio [1]. InGoal Magazine has covered Raygan Kirk in one podcast appearance.
