Born in Elmhurst, Illinois on June 28, 1993, Sparks was selected by the Maple Leafs in the seventh round, 209th overall, of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. The left-catching goaltender stands 6'3" and weighs 220 pounds. He currently plays for the Bloomington Bison of the ECHL.
