🎤 Episode 216 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features a fun interview with Matt Greenfield, who went from playing street hockey goalie in his driveway in Florida, to staring down big names like Alexander Ovechkin at Panthers summer skates, to playing professionally the past three seasons, first in the ECHL and now in Europe.
In the feature interview, presented by Sense Arena, Greenfield shares his unique path to pro hockey, which included four years at the University of Calgary, and the important lessons he learned from an early age and all along the way working with current Florida Panthers goalie coach Rob Tallas, who even named one of his favourite drills after Greenfield (and of course you can check the drill out, with video, with a subscriptions to InGoalMag.com). Greenfield shares valuable insights from his struggles in the Ontario Hockey League that include learning how to work with new goalie coaches who want you to do things differently than you’re used to, and his experience with The Panda while playing in the Calgary Flames organization, as well as some great ideas on how to approach practice opportunities, whether it was filling in at those summer skates in Florida, or how he turned the chance to practice with the Flames during the pandemic into his first professional contract with the organization.
All that, plus a trip to The Hockey Shop Source for Sports for out first look at the new Bauer X5 Pro, the second price point in the new Hyp2rLite line with some incredible bang-for-the-buck features.
