Episode 207 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features puck handling pioneer Marty Turco.

In the feature interview, presented by Sense Arena, In the feature interviews, presented by Sense Arena, Turco shares the story of how he invented the “Turco Grip” as the first goalie to turn the glove over when handling pucks while playing for the University of Michigan, changing the position and the game int the process.

Beyond the invention itself, Turco shares great insights into how he became the best puck-handling goalie in the NHL, including plenty of advice and drills applicable to young goalies — and coaches! — who want to get better at playing the puck themselves, and why that really doesn’t have to mean chucking long sauce passes either. Turco also has some great thoughts on the position outside of handling the puck, as well as how a life of goaltending helped prepare him now for life in business working for the Dallas Stars and as an an entrepreneur as part owner of Kingsville Brewery.

All that, plus a trip to The Hockey Shop Source for Sports for a closer look at the Vaughn V9 padded undershirts and pants — they’re on sale but can they really make you look bigger?
