Warrior Answer Goalie Stick Review: 550 Grams, the Lightest Pro Stick at The Hockey Shop
Warrior's 550-gram pro stick, built off the Covert QR
The Warrior Answer is Warrior’s answer to everybody else’s light goalie stick. Kevin Woodley and Cam from The Hockey Shop Source for Sports go through the new Warrior Answer goalie stick: 550 grams at a 25-inch paddle, the lightest top-end pro stick The Hockey Shop carries, and Kevin says about 50 grams lighter than the Warrior Covert QR. Plus why there is no 27-inch paddle any more.
- Weighs 550 grams at a 25-inch paddle — the lightest top-end pro goalie stick available at The Hockey Shop, roughly 50 grams lighter than the Warrior Covert QR.
- Built on the Covert QR platform with a low kick profile, the Covert QR paddle cutout, and Warrior's ASG shaft retained from that model.
- Uses Minimus Carbon 25 (Warrior's highest carbon count), with carbon left exposed under the graphic and a balance point near the handle for a non-bottom-heavy feel.
- Available in paddle sizes 23 to 26 inches only — Warrior has dropped the 27-inch option, and sizing now aligns with CCM, Bauer, and True.
- Offered in one colourway with no custom option; priced at C$429.99 for the senior stick at The Hockey Shop.
The Answer is built off the Warrior Covert QR, and it carries a lot of that stick’s DNA.
Low kick and the ASG shaft
It’s a low kick stick, and the Covert QR cutout on the back of the paddle helps the flex profile. Warrior’s ASG shaft is back, too.
Carbon and balance
The Answer uses Minimus Carbon 25, Warrior’s highest carbon count, with the carbon left exposed under the graphic. The balance point sits up near the handle, so it isn’t just light, it isn’t bottom-heavy either.
One curve: the Twist
Warrior makes the Answer in a single curve, its Twist.
23 to 26 inches, and sizing that matches
Paddles run from 23″ to 26″. Warrior has dropped the 27″ from its goal sticks as paddle sizes trend down, so it’s a good time to double-check your paddle size. Warrior’s sizing now matches CCM, Bauer and True as well: a 25″ Warrior is a 25″ everywhere.
One colourway, and the price
It comes in one colourway, with no custom option. The Hockey Shop lists the senior stick at C$429.99. Questions about paddle size or curve go to the goalie experts at The Hockey Shop Source for Sports at 604-589-8299, 1-800-567-7790, goalie@thehockeyshop.com, or @THSgoal on social.
