The Warrior Cabin Fever goalie stick has an old-school wood-grain look at about half the price of Warrior’s top-end stick. Kevin Woodley and Cam Matwiv from The Hockey Shop Source for Sports go through what it is under the graphic: a stick based on Warrior’s V series, with Vibex, a traditional square shaft and a mid kick, at C$179.99 for a senior. Plus how many cabin fever puns Cam can work into one segment.
The Cabin Fever is built off Warrior’s V series, and Cam puts it closest to the V4, the base model.
Vibex
Warrior’s Vibex is a gel layer between the composites that helps cut vibration from shots.
A traditional square shaft
The shaft keeps the square shape of a traditional stick, a little retro to go with the look.
The wood grain
It isn’t real wood. The grain is a graphic over the top, and that paint is also why the stick runs a little heavier than Warrior’s top-end model.
Mid kick, two curves
It has a mid kick, like the V series. Senior and intermediate sticks run from 23″ to 26″ in two curves: the Twist for a regular goalie and the Mid for a full right. The youth 20″ comes in a Mid, regular only.
Price
The Hockey Shop lists the senior and intermediate sticks at C$179.99 and the youth 20″ at C$139.99. Questions about paddle size or curve go to the goalie experts at The Hockey Shop Source for Sports at 604-589-8299, 1-800-567-7790, goalie@thehockeyshop.com, or @THSgoal on social.
