Shannon Szabados joined the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, as our feature guest brought to you by Sense Arena to talk about her new children’s book, Every Bunny Loves to Play, being a new mom and an incredible puck-stopping career that already includes two Olympic gold medals and one silver. 

 

Szabados, who has broken barriers playing against men in junior, college, and professionally, talks about her inspiration for the new book, an incredible career path in the crease and how — and when — it might continue. Szabados shares stories from her career, including the most nervous she’s ever been before a game, how she overcame being “painfully shy” after winning her first Olympic gold medal, and how influences like Bill Ranford and Dustin Schwartz shaped her playing style at very different points in her career.

 

Szabados is always a delight to talk to, and one of the greats of the game, so we were tempted to save this engaging and informative 45-minute interview to celebrate Episode 100 of InGoal Radio.
