Episode 191 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features a couple of great goalie conversations with Annti Raanta of the Carolina Hurricanes and Amanda Makela of the PWHPA.

In the feature interview, presented by Sense Arena, Raanta shares insights from a career that has included playing partners like Corey Crawford, Henrik Lundqvist and now Frederik Andersen, and some of the keys he has taken away from each. Raanta also shares a tip on setting up your skates that he picked up from Lundqvist, and explains why that method now has him trying to transition in-season to the new Bauer KONEKT skates. 

Makela also joins the show for the first time to talk about a fascinating — and at times frustrating — career that includes being a NCAA standout at Mercyhurst, the battle of playing far too few games the past couple of seasons, and why it led to a stint in Sweden. As a goalie and goaltending coach who works with Jon Elkin of the Toronto Maple Leafs as well as running Mak Goaltending, Makela has lots of great advice, including how to manage your games in those periods when all you seem to get is practice time.
