Watching Carey Price play his way into the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in his career has been a great reminder of the important role that movement foundations play in the Montreal Canadiens Star’s long-standing status as one of the NHL’s best goaltenders. Those are the same fundamentals we’ve seen him share with young goalies at the Eli Wilson Day with Price summer camps, and the best part is they apply whether you are a beginner just getting started in goal, a beer leaguer looking to get better, or a Hart and Vezina Trophy winner backstopping the Montreal Canadiens on hockey’s biggest stage now.
It’s also been a great excuse to go searching through the hours and hours of video footage from those camps to find new tips from, and drills featuring Price. Whether it’s on or off the ice, Price has been open and engaging sharing his advice with the goalies — and InGoal Magazine cameras — at these events, so we’re doubling down on our efforts to make sure we haven’t missed any, and passing them along as fast as we can process and produce them. This is a list of 31 we’ve come up with so far and InGoal Premium annual members can access them all, including last summer’s 1-hour live webinar with Carey.
Count on more in the near future, so stay tuned. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy and benefit from this compilation. It can help you as a goalie or goalie parent, and it applies from pee wee to pro.
Carey Price helped us kick off our ProReads segment where NHL goaltenders break down their saves - and he has walked us through several that showed his impressive ability to read the game like no other.
